Dharmasamvardhini.(Rupaka thaalam)- 2

Charanam:
Madhava sodari sundari Madhyamaavathi shankari:= Sister of Madhava,who is beautiful
and represents Shankari the most auspicious one,Who is glorified by Raaga Madhyamaavathi.
Madhurya vaak vijrumbiNi Mahaadeva kutumbini:=Possesed of sweet voice and the spouse of
Mahaadeva.
Saadhujana chittha Ranjani shaaswatha guruguha janani:=Delights the hearts of devotees
and the mother of Lord Subrahmanya and She is eternal by her very nature.
Bodha roopini Niranjani Bhuvanesa dhuritha bhanjani:=She is the embodiment of consciousness,
She is unsullied,She destroys all miseries and controls the universe.
(Madhyama kaala).
Paadaja viSva vilaasini Panchanadisollasini:=The universe is manifest through Her sacred feet.
She delights the PanchanadeeSa.
Veda shasthra viSvaasini vidhi hari haya PrakaaSini:=She is the ultimate of Vedaas and Shasthraas and illumines Brahma,Vishnu and Shiva.

Dharmasamvardhini.(Rupaka thaalam) -1

Next krithi I wish to take up is Dharmasamvardhini in Madhyamaavathi set to Rupaka thaalam.
This krithi was composed by dikshithar at thiruvaiyaaru.This is situate on the banks of Kaveri,
about 13 kilometres from Thanjaavur.There is the temple of Panchanadishwarar whose consort
is Dharmasamvardhini. Another name for the temple is Dakshina Kailaasam.The name thiruvaiaaru also denotes that the place is surrounded by five rivers.
Pallavi:
Dharmasamvardhini.=One who stimulates righteousness.
Danuja sammardini.=Who destroyed the demons.
Dharaadharaathmaje.=Daughter of Himavaan.
Aje.=Who is unborn.
Dayaya maam paahi paahi.=Protect me out of your mercy.
Anupallavi:
Nirmala hridaya nivaasini.=One who resides in the heart of the pure.
Nithyaananda vilasini.=Ever blissful.
Karma gnaana vidaayini.=One who controls Karma and Gnaana.
Kaankshithaartha pradaayini.= Fulfils the desires.
